The vision motivating the William A. Carter Foundation is the belief that all children learn best when they feel valued as individuals. The Willie Carter Indoor Golf Center (hereafter referred to as the Center), offers classes and one-on-one coaching to youth and adults to train them in the requisite skills necessary to excel in the sport of Golf. The Foundation The Foundation offers students an opportunity to perceive and appreciate similarities and differences that exist among people and use this knowledge to gain further understanding of the common humanity of members of different groups. regardless of gender, race, religion and ethnicity. The Foundation is committed to the philosophy that each person has an obligation to others and in return receives from others. A smile, a handshake, a kind word, caring people all foster positive feelings. People learn to appreciate and to accept each other's talents and needs. This commitment is based on the belief that: 1. All children can learn best when they feel valued 2. All children can learn given enough time 3. All children need a positive self-concept in order to learn to value others. 4. All children have a talent, which can be developed. 5. All children are special and unique and each child has his/her own learning style and learning rate. The corporation's purposes will be exclusively charitable in an effort to provide and disseminate information about golf and golf skills, and to maintain a scholarship fund and assist and aid children in developing their golf skills through the sponsorship of amateur golf and golf programs. We will supply the necessary golf equipment to local elementary and high schools. Willie Carter, President of the Foundation, will be in the schools giving instruction on the game of golf. The purpose of this exposure in the schools is to develop self-esteem, responsibility, discipline, and a positive feeling of self through golf, to our children. Every parent, employee and volunteer joins together with our students to create and extended family atmosphere of sharing and caring. These positive feelings are carried through the foundation and out into the community. If you can help please contact us at either: Willie Carter's GOLF CENTER, Inc. How you can help?
